The New Site

We’ve updated our site and have a new direction for the blog. Moving forward, we’re going to talk about the projects that we’ve been working on and what we’re doing to move forward with them. A lot of our video projects have a large number of moving pieces. This week, we’re working on a few interesting things.

Barberton, Ohio has a chance to win a large grant as an “All American City”. In this, we are working with the School system, the City, and Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority to create a short video that will help them in their bid to win the grant. It’s an exciting project for a city that does so much. We’ll update you with a link when it becomes available.

Video and You

We’ve been wonderfully busy creating new video content for our clients and loving it.   Thank you to all that have been a part of the past few months in keeping us so busy.    We’re growing (more to come on that in the next few posts), and in that, one of the ways that we’re growing is creating video content that will help you in your photo and video marketing efforts.   What will you see in this series? Why tune in? Where’s this all going? Take a peek and you can get some quick answers to all of those questions.

Thanks and we’re already working on the next one!

The Facts

Sometimes, rather than writing a big, long story, you need some cold, quick facts.

Companies with video marketing have a 54% better brand awareness.

84% of consumers have watched a video about an item that they are interested in.

Per Google, 50% of web users look for a video before visiting a store or website.

79% of consumers prefer watching a video to reading.

By 2020, Cisco feels that 82% of all consumer web traffic will be video.

What can we do to help you push your business forward?

Looking good in video

How do you look good on camera?

There are a ton of people that get nervous being on video.   We get it. If it’s a video production or even just a picture, the camera can be intimidating.   It’s not like an audience where you can see if they have a positive or negative response. You just have to put yourself out there and hope, right?   NO!!! With a little thought and some planning, you can look great and be ready for some awesome videos!

  1. Dress for what you and your customers do.   It sounds simple, but it really makes a statement.   Look clean, but ready to do the job of your audience.  Be clean. Look fresh. Most of all, make sure that you look like you’re ready to do what you and your customers do.

  2. Be bright.   Black is one of the toughest colors for a camera to get right.   Wear something that’s got a basic color to it, and also will have a good contrast with your background.   (Don’t wear blue in front of a blue wall etc.)

  3. Rehearse!    The thing that we always tell people when going doing a live video, is to “have your first 3 or 4 lines totally ready to go”.    Those lines are always the toughest and if you stumble at first, it’s tough to regain your composure. Have those first few lines nailed and that confidence will carry thought the rest of your video.

  4. Ditch the office chair!    If you’re going to be sitting, get a chair that doesn’t swivel.   Too many times we see people nervously swiveling in their chair a bit which gives them this “floating” look.   Unless you’re trying to look like an apparition, ditch the swivel chair for a stationary one.

  5. Act natural.   If you talk with your hands, go ahead and talk with your hands a bit.   If you don’t, that’s fine also. Whatever you do, relax and be yourself.

At Pedal Stomper Productions, we have the experience to notice those little things that help you to look your best on camera.   We go the extra mile to make sure that you’re prepared and confident in front of the video camera. We work as part of your team to help you convey the right message to your customers.   Let’s work together on your next marketing project to get more customers paying attention to you!

Keeping a watchful eye on things

Keeping a watchful eye on things

Are you getting the most out of your knowledge?

You’re a pro, but are you using that knowledge right?

You’re a pro.   You know what you do.   You know what makes you, your products, and your staff better than the competition.   That’s great for when a customer walks in the door, but why aren’t you using this knowledge to get more people in the door?

Knowledge is something that is far too often kept locked up until it’s asked for.   Businesses seem to wait for someone to walk through their door and ask a question before that business has the opportunity to show their skills and expertise.  This is leaving a huge, untapped resource. Since you have these tools, let’s use your knowledge and expertise to be aggressive in going to find new customers for you.

How do we do this?

Simply put, education is the way to be seen as the expert.   By being the one to reach out and educate people, you can be seen as “The Authority” on what you do.   That education and position works as a powerful tool in a number of different ways.

  1. Controlling knowledge.   When you’re in front of a customer, you have the ability to show them the strong points of your products and service.   You get to point out all of the best without having to be compared to others. That “Best Foot Forward” approach gives you the whole leg up on the competition.

  2. Constant contact.   We don’t send “touching base” or “wanted to reach out” emails because with the busy schedules of today, no one wants to use their time to respond to that.   On the flip side of this, adding value to their day is the perfect reason to contact them. When you’re able to bring good, new information to people, they look forward to it.

  3. Getting to know you.   As much as we live in an online world, people still want to buy from people.   Even though it may seem obvious, businesses are run by people...who want to work with people.   Video is a phenomenal way for your customers to see and hear you on a consistent basis, thus feeling that human connection with you.  After they’ve seen you a number of times, they come to realize that you’re no longer those pixels on a screen. You’re a person that genuinely wants to work with them.

  4. Confidence.   When your customer sees you talk about your product with confidence, it gives them the confidence to buy from you.   It’s simple psychology. If someone acts confident about who they are and what they have to offer, people feel good about listening...and buying.

As a note about confidence:

We know that some people love a camera.   We know some people don’t mind a camera. We also know that some people absolutely hate being in front of a camera.   We know how to make it comfortable for everyone. After all, our expertise is bringing out the fact stated in the opening statement.   “You’re a pro.” You know it. Your customers know it. It’s our job at Pedal Stomper Productions to make sure that you look it.

You have the knowledge and the tools to reach out to your customers and stay in constant contact with them.   Now it’s time to start putting those tools to work!!!!

2018...What a year!!!

2018...What a year!!!

What a year!    First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you.   In one way or another, you’ve been a part of the growth and success of Pedal Stomper Productions and for this, I am eternally grateful.    It was March of this year when this passion became a business and in the last 9 months, it’s been absolutely amazing. The places that we’ve been and the things that we’ve seen have been amazing but what I have loved most of all is the people.   The camera has introduced me to some amazing and wonderful people over the past year and it’s you that has truly made this, a year to remember.

No year is complete without a top 10 list, right?    So we decided to do a bit of our own list to cover some of the highlights from this year.

Getting customers to come to you - the key to contact

Everyone wants to get more orders from more customers.   It’s simply how we grow our business. Unfortunately, there’s all sorts of confusion on how to properly do this.   Often times, online marketing is done like a “get rich quick” scheme or the latest diet fad and as you know, those don’t really work.

So what does work?

It’s said that you need to have 6-10 contacts with your customer before they will finally enter a transaction.   In this, you need to find a way to interact with your customers for those 6 to 10 times and it’s as simple as four words.    Consistently creating great content.

You may think, “Those are 4 words, but they aren’t simple.”   This is where many people go wrong and give up. Let’s break this down to a few simple steps and keep you rolling out the content that will get you those new customers.

  1. Keep it educational

  2. Keep it simple

  3. Keep it great

  4. Keep it consistent

Customers are constantly looking for these 4 things with every piece of content that see.   If you keep these in mind as you create your content, you’ll have your 6-10 contacts in no time and the new orders will start rolling in.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be covering the 4 steps in a bit more detail for you, but start working with them now!   We can help with that content also as we all know how effective great photos and especially video can be.

What’s been the rule that you’ve broken the most?   What rule do you keep with? We want to know in the comments!

Showing your strength

Marketing your strengths sounds simple...but is it?

Yes, but let’s talk about making sure that you stay on track with it.

During a consulting session with a client this week, that became the topic of discussion as we were working on a future marketing plan for them.   They’re rapidly growing and have a great path ahead of them. As they start to build their web presence, I began to find that the focus of their future marketing plan was on products.   This is a great area for them to expand into and they have some great items to work with, but it wasn’t how they built their business to this point. In this, I asked, “What’s the thing that you guys are known for? What do you do better than anyone else?”
“Our service is what we’re known for.   We do things that other places can’t or won’t.”

Our discussion immediately changed.  We spent the rest of the conversation working towards a marketing and web plan that includes parts, but it focused on what they do the best, and where they make their money…Service!   This is a talented group and we’re really excited to help them “show off” a bit.

When working with you, we want to make sure that we help to show where you’re the best, how you’re different, and why you’re the best value for your customers.   Creating that value is how you find new customers, and why the old ones stay with you time and time again.

Let us know what you do the best in the comments!   Have you stuck with that plan? We want to hear your stories!

Consistent updates

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving as we definitely did!

Part of digital marketing is evolving to fit the needs of your customers. We dove headfirst into the data to see who went where, when, why, and how. In this, we changed our site around to give you a better idea of what do and how we can help you. In this, we’d love your direct feedback to see what you think!

Also, we’ve added the ability for you to subscribe to our mailing list. We practice what we preach and won’t push to sell you anything on there. What we want to do is engage with our subscribers and help them push their digital marketing forward. Presenting solid, usable information on how photo and video marketing can be used is the goal. We definitely have enough material to support both the newsletter and the blog, so make sure that you subscribe and check back here for more great information!

Sincerely,

Josh Troche
